Live betting odds for Cleveland Cavaliers vs Golden State Warriors - Monday, February 15, 2021 at Chase Center on Monday, February 15, 2021. Up to date offshore betting odds of over 30. Bet Online and Sportsbook.ag have both given Golden State -220 odds to win their first title in 40 years, while Cleveland is a +190 and +185 underdog at the betting sites, respectively.
The Cavaliers were dealt a harsh dose of reality this past Thursday night in Game 4 of this series with a 103-82 beatdown at the hands of Golden State as four-point home underdogs. This game was never really close and now Cleveland has to pick-up the pieces on the road in what has become a best-of-three affair. The one thing in the Cavs' favor for Sunday night's game is the simple fact that they have already beaten the Warriors on the road with a 95-93 overtime victory in Game 2 as 7.5-point underdogs. The bad news is that the gap in talent and depth between these two teams was clearly exposed in Thursday's loss.
If Cleveland is going to regain the edge it once held in this matchup, it is going to need LeBron James to return to the form that basically made him unstoppable in the first three games of this series. He ended Game 4 with just 20 points after averaging 41 points in those first three meetings and it was pretty obvious that the rest of his team looked completely lost when he was not on the court on Thursday night.
Golden State found itself in a 2-1 hole in the Western Conference Semifinals against Memphis and it turned up the heat with three straight wins while covering against the spread each time. The Warriors had not lost three games in-a-row all season long and they were not about to lose three straight to Cleveland in this series after taking Game 1 with a 108-100 overtime victory as six-point home favorites. The one concern for bettors has to be their 4-6 record ATS at home in these playoffs.
Golden State Vs Cleveland
Everyone expected league-MVP Stephen Curry to shoot the ball better in Game 4 and while his 22 points were below his postseason average (28.0) he did not disappoint by going 8-for-17 from the field and 4-for-7 from three-point range. The Warriors also got a huge effort from Andre Igoudala, who was inserted into the starting lineup, with 22 points and eight rebounds. Overall, Golden State shot 46.8 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc on Thursday night which much more closely resembled its shooting numbers from the regular season which were tops in the league.
The Cavaliers are 4-1 ATS in their last five road games against a team with a SU winning record at home and they are 5-1 ATS in their last six games after allowing more than 100 points in their previous outing. The total has stayed UNDER in five of their last six games.
The Warriors are just 4-9 ATS in their last 13 home games, but they have gone 20-5-1 in their last 26 games playing on two day's rest. The total has stayed UNDER in eight of their last 10 games played at home.
The home team in this matchup is 4-2 both SU and ATS in the last six meetings and the total has stayed UNDER in six of the last seven games. Cleveland has failed to cover in six of its last road games against Golden State and it is just 5-11 ATS in the last 16 meetings overall.
Cleveland vs. Golden State Prediction
The complete shift in momentum in this series is sure to follow Golden State back home, but I am not comfortable laying that many points against the Cavaliers given the Warriors' recent betting trends ATS at Oracle Arena . Look for Golden State to regain the edge in this series with the SU win on Sunday night, but put your money on Cleveland to cover with the 8.5 points.
